In this hands-on indoor/outdoor plant-growing course, students will learn how to cultivate fresh produce, microgreens, and herbs by choosing one of two projects designed for various levels of gardening intensity. In the first project option, we'll explore indoor seed starting and create a setup for successfully growing seedlings to transplant to your outdoor garden. Directions for outdoor garden setup and maintenance are included with this first project. For the second project option, students will build an indoor low-intensity garden to grow herbs, microgreens, and low-maintenance food year-round, focusing on clean, sustainable practices and environmental management. This course is ideal for anyone, beginner to advanced, eager to gain practical skills for year-round fresh food and herb production. Students will purchase their supplies after class begins. Supply costs may run from $50 and up depending on the project students select/ what they decide to grow.
